Laverendrye Update – Oct 10, 2026

Fellow bowlers,

Just to  let everyone know that there is some progress, just not at the rate that we would like to see.

I will try to meet with some of the CEO`S from Priority this week to get things moving at a quicker pace, especially since the date quoted earlier is fast approaching.

Better news next week, I hope.

Laverendrye Update – Oct 3, 2026

Just to let all executives know that things are moving along.

There is no change in the date for re-opening.

I have a meeting on Monday at which time I will know more.

Flooring is proceeding very well with the work being done as I write. Again, great job by Doug from Curtis Carpets.

Once the flooring is finished, then other tasks can be completed.

More info next weekend.

Please pass along.

Laverendrye Update – Sept 27th

To all,

Please forward as you see fit.

Just to let you know that we are still waiting for the flooring to be done.

Most of the finishing touches cannot be completed before that.

Patience is a virtue.

Locker fees will be due 4 weeks after the re-opening, for those who have asked. For those who did not ask, same thing.

Hopefully, better news next weekend.

Laverendrye update – Opening Nov 1st?

To all team captains and league executives:

Please forward to your teammates or league members this message and others which may follow.

We have finally received a possible (probable) opening date which is Nov. 1. It could be sooner if everything goes according to plan.

Just a few details: some work has been done. The tiles have been removed for a second time (over 2000 of them) and the drywall has been cut and replaced. It now has to be painted.

Time line: the last of the tiles were removed yesterday and the  person in charge told us that the cement in the settee and other areas needed two weeks to dry completely before the tiling could be done properly.

This would bring us to October 3.

Then they would do all the flooring, including carpets and that would take two weeks, give or take. That should be done by October 16.

After that, everything should fall into place.

The plumbing, the electrical, the cabinets and counters, retrieving the goods and equipment from storage and putting back the center in working order.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Do not let my delays worry you. I just want to make sure that the information I send is accurate.

If anyone who should receive these emails is not getting them, just let me know via e-mail.

Laverendrye Flooding – Update as of Sept 17, 2026

For those of you who are unaware, Laverendrye had another flooding incident, after partially completing all of the renovations and repairs from the first flood.

At this point, they are no re-doing some of the repairs, and are hoping to have a tentative opening date announced soon. Ed McCarthy is hoping to give everyone an update by Sept 19th.

If you have any questions, or concerns, especially about any bowling equipment you may still have at the lanes, you should contact Ed McCarthy. His email address is lavbowling@mts.net

Laverendrye Lanes – Flooded

Due to extensive flooding in June, Laverendrye Lanes had to close their bowling operations and Pro Shop. They are in the process of cleanup and repairs and are hoping to be open by the end of August, but this is not guaranteed. The Manager sends out regular updates to their League Secretaries and Presidents. We will keep you updated here also.

** NEW ** Adult and Senior Provincial Championships

The MBA, is holding 2 new tournaments on Sunday, March 29 at Chateau Lanes and we want to make sure everyone knows about them

They are the “Adult Provincial Championship” and the “Senior Provincial Championship” and the posters are up in all of the bowling centers with the details as well as posted on Facebook and the Winnipeg and Manitoba Bowling website

They are being generously sponsored by Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries and are presented by the Manitoba Bowling Association along with the Manitobe Tenpin Federation and Sport Manitoba

The tournaments are scratch and handicap so everyone can compete – you are entered in both scratch and handicap divisions at the same time

They are 6 game total pinfall with a top 3 stepladder in each division

Entry is $80 and there is no lineage charge, so your entry fee is going directly to the prize fund.

This will allow us to have a first prize of $500 in each division (scratch and handicap, adult and senior) based on 30 entries

As well, each entry will receive a $12 food and drink voucher that can be used the day of the tournament

We are very excited to host this new event and encourage all of you to come out and participate – it is for all bowlers!

Please get your entries in as soon as possible as they close on Saturday, March 28 at noon.
AND THERE IS MAXIMUM OF 78 ENTRIES FOR THE TWO EVENTS IN TOTAL !!

Go to Tournamentbowl.com to enter online – you can scan the QR code on the poster for a quick link to the tournament OR reach out to the tournament director Shauna Jeannotte.

Please see the posters for all of the details!
