Winnipeg Wins Their 8th!!

L-R: Jay Doe, Kim Clark, Peter Wight, Linda Green, Ken Burns, Oliver Marasigan, Kleighton Burns. Missing: Richard Sipinski
This year on October 18, 2025, the Association Challenge was hosted by the Brandon Tenpin Bowling Association at T-Birds. Next in the rotation is the trip to Dauphin for 2026 at Parkway Lanes and it will be String Pins like at T-Birds. A fun tournament with only bragging rights and a plaque with the winning Association’s bowler’s names on it up for grabs.
A big shout out to Jody Scott, Pat Wight, Ron and Geri Molinski as the only bowlers who have participated in all the challenge matches thus far and that would be 18 years. Even though Ron, Geri and Pat did not bowl they did the trip to Brandon to cheer on the Winnipeg teams. Also a big thank you to the staff from T-Birds for making sure the Challenge ran smoothly which it did. Thanks also to Sean Clegg and Ted Smuland for arranging the Challenge without any problems.
A big thanks as usual to Pat Wight for looking after the snacks which was cookies and muffins (It’s a tradition already). The meal this year was provided by T-Birds in the lounge on the second floor thanks to the Board of Directors of Brandon for arranging that.
The low 4 game scratch series for men was 398 and the high 4 game scratch series was 841 for men.
The low 4 game scratch series for women was 427 (2) and the high 4 game series was 725 for women.
The low game scratch for men was 81 and the low game scratch for women was 103.
The high game scratch for men was 267 and the high game scratch for women was 225 (2).
As for the last 3 years, only 4 games are bowled instead of the usual 5 games. This way the travelling associations could get home sooner and the supper didn’t have to be rushed through. Again, everyone that bowled liked the new format and it will be used for all Association Challenges.
As always it was great seeing members of the other bowling associations and socializing with all. The new bowlers that have never participated in the challenge before said they cannot wait until nest season so they can participate again (if associations cannot have teams from their Board of Directors).
So far Winnipeg won 8 times, Dauphin won 7 times and Brandon won 3 times.
Congratulations to Winnipeg who have the bragging rights for 2025!!! Who will it be in 2026?
