5-Divisional Tournament
Jan 19, 2019
Chateau Lanes
Well, what a great turnout! We had 42 bowlers competing in the event this year.
That’s the most in some time! Thanks to everyone who participated.
We tried something new this year, and it seems to have worked.
We scheduled the 5-Divisional and Allan Boes Memorial tournaments
together, so that bowlers could bowl their 4 games once, and have the scores
count for both tournaments. It allowed them to bowl in two tournaments, and
only have to pay the lineage once. It was almost like a “two-for-one” deal,
which most of the bowlers took advantage of. Winnipegers are always looking
for a deal. <grin>
We had 42 entries! Much more than we expected and in fact, they were lined up
at the registration desk early – actually even before the tournament officials
were ready for them. It was awesome! We do apologize to everyone for starting
the tournament later than planned. We weren’t prepared for the turnout – next
year will be better!
A big thank-you to the volunteers who helped run the tournament – Patricia Wight,
Jay Doe, Ron Molinski, and Dan Tereck. And Wanda Howard stepped in to assist us
even though she was one of the participants.
And thanks to Chateau Lanes and their staff for the support and assistance to
make the tournament a success.
